You know how there are certain occasions that are almost always the happiest days of a person’s life?
Vacations, births, buying a home, first kiss, falling in love, surprise birthday parties, and the list could go on and on.
Our family experienced such an occasion ~ the most beautiful (and perfect) Fall wedding. The happy couple is celebrating their first anniversary today, so I’m a little late in posting!
HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY!!
Instead of a rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, we had a “set up” and a “set up dinner.” The beautiful couple wanted to get married in the bride’s family’s backyard which was a stunning setting with fall colored trees and a lake with a pier. There were white pumpkins everywhere and bright yellow mums all around.
This beautiful arbor was built by a good friend of the bride and this will be where the bride and groom say their vows.
The happy couple!
The next area is the dinner tables and buffet tables. They were decorated with white table cloths, lanterns with lit candles and the bride’s favorite flower, the sunflower, along with more white pumpkins. The place settings were gold, black and white which was carried out everywhere ~ the bride’s dress, the sunflowers and all the decor.
The bride and groom’s table was decorated with special plates that are the bride through and through. She loves anything that has to do with skulls. I can’t explain it!! We still love her!
We ordered the sunflower cupcakes from Publix. The black center is an Oreo. Who doesn’t love Oreos?! They were beautiful and delicious!
Because the bride and groom are on the keto diet, a friend made a special keto~friendly cake for the happy couple.
There was also a beautiful dance floor with twinkling lights.
There was a fire pit for when the sun went down and you wanted to keep warm. Any one for a s’more?
PIZZA TIME WITH THE HARD WORKING FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
There was lots of laughter, eating, and drinking.
THE WEDDING DAY
Son #1 married his beautiful bride on a perfect autumn day in October where the setting was absolutely stunning. The weather was perfect. The decorations were perfect. Everything was perfect!!
Before the “I do’s.”
The beautiful bride walked down the aisle with her handsome dad to “A Time for Us” from Romeo and Juliet played by the groom and his youngest sister on the violin. It was so beautiful, just like the bride!
I think everyone turned around just to check on the groom and he said, “Stop looking at me!” He wanted to cry! The bride’s brother officiated the wedding and he did such a great job.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife!”
The reception.
All my handsome boys!!
The girls adore their big brother.
The purpose of my life!!
Our whole family.
All the in-laws!! EEEKKKK!
The cousins.
Three generations.
God has surrounded my son with great friends!
The bride’s beautiful friends.
And, of course, we had corn hole. Remember the boards we painted and stenciled?
The happy couple was called onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. They danced beautifully to “Q + A” by Kishi Bashi.
The father/bride dance made me cry. They were so sweet together and they kept hugging and smiling. They danced to “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John.
The mother/groom dance was me talking my son’s ear off since I’m so uncomfortable with dancing and dancing in front of people! We danced to “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.
As the sun went down, all the lights and candles turned on and the twinkling was like the stars in the sky. We had so much fun talking, hugging, dancing, drinking, eating, cornholing, firepitting, and lots of laughing!!
Cutting the cake!
When the bride & groom were ready to head off into the sun….eh…..moonlight, we all lit the way!
What a great day for a great couple. I can’t believe it took me a year to blog about such a special day. Big fail!!!
