I’ve been so excited to finish our deck but the weather in NC has not been cooperating!!
I was so desperate to finish it, we were painting in 50 degree weather in the dark! The paint was thick and gloppy (yes, that’s a word!)!!
Here are before pictures of our deck that I painted about 10 years ago and never did anything else to it as you can see!
We had our house pressured cleaned recently so most of the paint on the deck came off during the cleaning.
We lightly sanded everything (oh my aching arms!) then we painted the railings with PPG Timeless Exterior Paint and Primer in white. We painted the deck floor in Behr Premium Advanced DeckOver paint in slate grey.
It looks so much brighter and cleaner. I just love it!
I also painted the doors the same color as our front door. My favorite color blue!!! Peek-a boo blue from Sherwin Williams.
I bought the beautiful outdoor carpet from Amazon.
Here in NC, we’ve been getting a lot of rain so I had to take a break from finishing the decorating portion (my favorite part!) until the weather became a little better.
The fun part started when I got to decorate the newly painted deck on our first sunny day in a long time.
We ran to Lowe’s Home Improvement to get some greenery for the deck and we found BLUE poinsettias!!!!! BLUE!!! Can you believe it! I love them so much!! And they were only $1. YEAH!!!!
I received a Wayfair gift card for mentioning them on instagram/twitter so I bought a beautiful wind chime. A very nice surprise from a great company!!
We replaced our old and decrepit grill with a new Char-Broil Performance Black and Stainless 5 Liquid Propane Gas Grill with 1 Side Burner from Lowe’s Home Improvement. It’s a great grill!
We love our new deck!! What do you think?
