We have been very busy planning our next project!!
OUR FAMILY ROOM MAKEOVER
We've already laid the plywood floors.
We're in the process of a fireplace mantle makeover
An electrician is coming tomorrow to give us an estimate on some work we need done:
1) Sconces on each side of the new mantle. We found these beauties at Lowe's. They are Portfolio outdoor wall lanterns for $45.
2) Sconces on top of the built-in bookcases. We bought a smaller version of the picture above for $35.
3) An outlet under the couch to hide electrical cords for the lamps on the sofa table. Right now, the lights are in the middle of the room and the electrical cords travel across the floor to the nearest outlet. I hate seeing electrical cords!
4) We want to move the television from above the fireplace to a corner flatscreen connected to the built-in bookcases like this:
We made a trip to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore yesterday and bought the cabinets that we will use for the bottom cabinets of the built-ins. Of course, I didn't take a picture of them. DARN!! I'll try to describe them to you. It's an older kitchen set that I believe is maple. It's mostly in good condition with one drawer missing. I will paint them white and replace the brass hardware with wrought iron. We will pick it up from the ReStore tomorrow. I'm so excited to get started on the overhaul!!
We had a very productive weekend. It feels good! How was your weekend?
Love y'all,
Linda
I love the bookcases, and especially how you angled the TV. Very nicely done!
Thanks Barbi~ Thanks for letting me know about the link malfunction. I get those a lot. I’m not sure why. They work sometimes and then they stop working. Thanks for the help! Hope you’re enjoying your Thursday! ~Linda
The link to #4 is broken. I'd like to see your built in bookcases with the TV. Thank you.
