We painted the staircase spindles a bright white and the railings black. Our next project….tear out the carpet and redo the stairs in a dark red chesnut stain.
I painted the front door the same black as the staircase railings. Then I made the pretty wreath to break up the black.
The LOML found the stools on the right on the side of the road. He brought them home and we painted the stools the same color as the kitchen walls.
When we redid the kitchen, we replaced the green formica countertops (YUCK!) with IKEA’s butcher block. I stained and varnished it. We added the newel posts and painted the whole base white. We also added the beadboard on all the sides without cabinet doors.
The rest of the countertops were replaced with granite.
Here is our transformation from the boys’ room to a very girlie room.
Here is my attempt at art. I painted a tree and added butterflies and photos for a little three dimensional aspect.
A before and after of the whole kitchen.
We changed out our old banged up white sink to a new stainless steel beauty.
We redid our pantry by replacing the wire shelves with wood shelves. I also painted and stenciled the walls.
I redid the kitchen table to match the island. I painted the base white and stained the top a dark mahogany.
In an attempt to get rid of all the brass in our house, we painted the chandelier black and replaced the shades with white shades. I painted a little green trim and added a little bling.
I'm remodeling my livingroom and my light brown staircase similar to yours doesn't work anymore. Your before-and-after convinced me that black will look great, thanks!
Hi Linda. Great job. Everything looks great!
