HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!
Hey Everybody!! Hope your week is going well!
We had a busy weekend!
First off, Thursday we had a birthday for Son #1’s girlfriend.
Friday we had a double date with Son #1 and his birthday girlfriend to a Carolina Hurricanes hockey game. So much fun!!!!
We babysat our first grand dog Vonnegut for the night and the next day so the sweet couple could go up the NC mountains for a day of birthday celebration with a hike, lunch and just sweet time together.
When they arrived back home, they informed us that Son #1 asked his beautiful girlfriend to marry him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so ecstatic!!
So then they came back to our house on Monday night for dinner and we made them this recipe from allrecipes.com.

- ½ cup water
- 1/3 cup light soy sauce
- ¼ cup ¼vegetable oil

- Mix water, soy sauce, vegetable oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and minced garlic in a deep bowl;
- Add pork chops and marinate in refrigerator at least 2 hours.
- Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
- Remove pork chops from the marinade and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Cook the pork chops on the preheated grill until no longer pink in the center, 5-6 minutes per side. An instant read thermometer inserted into the center should read 145° F.
The pork chops were a hit! We served them with rice pilaf and cauliflower and bacon. YUMMY!!
We have another busy weekend coming up with a houseful of frisbee players from App State who will be playing at Brickyard at NC State which is down the street from us so we’ll be feeding them and housing them and watching them play and hopefully win!!!! Busy, busy, busy!!!
Hopefully, after we recuperate from that, we can start on the double barn doors for our master bathroom.
Can’t wait to share it with y’all!!
Love y’all,
Linda
