Because our family is having a wedding celebration, we have been working on many projects around the house that we’ve been planning to do but never got around to. I work great under extreme pressure!!
One of the projects we wanted to do was to update our college son’s bedroom into a guest room. It’s the only bedroom on the first floor so it’s great for older parents/grandparents not having to do stairs. It also has a full bath right next door so it’s perfect for company.
In the college son’s bedroom, the walls are grey and the room has black furniture with red accents.
I knew I wanted to hang sheer white curtains at the double window and the one single window.
I really want to do something different with the curtain rods.
The LOML cut two 1×4’s two inches wider than each window (one inch on either side).
I painted the boards a dark grey and lightly sanded for a weathered look.
I ordered these cute stainless steel hooks from Lowe’s Home Improvement. The LOML drilled the holes and I screwed the two small screws in each hook.
The LOML screwed the boards above the windows with the board resting on top of the window molding.
And voila!!
I love how they turned out and it was very simple to do.
My next post will be the rest of the guest room. Please come back and check it out. I think you’ll love it as much as I do.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments. I love hearing from you. And if you wouldn’t mind, please fill in your e-mail address on the right side of this page so you can receive my posts directly into your mail box as soon as I post it. And thank you!
Love y’all,
