Hey Y’all!!
As we’re all social distancing and staying at home, I hope you are safe, healthy and anxiety is low. This is such a strange time for us all. I pray for all of you who are out of work, sick, or feeling alone. I hope everyone has family and friends who check up on you and send you virtual hugs.
We are grateful that the LOML (Love of my Life) can work from home and pops into work every once in awhile to check on things. We’re also working on a little surprise for some extra income that I can’t wait to share with you guys VERY SOON! We need another income to pay for upcoming colleges, wedding and retirement. Y’all know what I’m talkin’ about!
While we’re at home, I’m finishing lots of projects that have been lurking in the back of my brain which I push even farther back because I’m lazy!!
If you remember our DIY barn door that we built for our master closet (you can see it here and here), we built the exact same door two more times for a double door to our master bathroom.
Because of our vast experience and knowledge (of building ONE door), the second and third doors were easy to build. We followed the exact same measurements for cutting the wood, assembling the pieces, staining and varnishing, adding the hardware, and screwing the railing into the wall above the door.
This is the inside of the bathroom side of the door. It’s bead board.
We added the hanger/rollers to hang the door on the railing that we attached to the wall above the doors.
First barn door hung!
The LOML and Son #4 hanging the second barn door!
I love how it looks so far!! Now to add the door pulls.
This is a view from the inside of the bathroom.
We added a small pull to open from the inside.
The day after we finished the doors, I was sitting on my bed just admiring our handiwork. I love when a project comes together exactly how you picture it and plan it. AAHHHHH!
And here’s a little side by side before & after for all you guys who love before and afters as much as I do!!
Thanks for coming to visit and read about our home projects. I’d be grateful if you added your e-mail to the right side of this page to receive my posts automatically. Thanks in advance!
Hope y’all are doing okay. Keep smiling, keep busy, and stay healthy!
