Today, I went wild with the white paint. Son #1 and I put the first coat of white on the staircase. It looks so bright!I painted the newel posts under the kitchen island. The kitchen is almost done. I can’t wait to share it all with you!
Son #4 spray painted the curtain rings for the kitchen window curtains.
Like I said, I went wild with the white paint!!
Now, a little bit about me and my family….
My favorite thing to do….the thing that gets me all excited….that my brain thinks about A LOT….

…but what makes it the perfect picture….my family by my side, smiling sweetly with paint brushes in hand saying “Yes Dear!” and “Yes Mom!”

Now, my boys’ favorite thing to do….the thing that gets them all excited…..that their brains think about A LOT…
VIDEO GAMES ~ VIDEO GAMES ~ VIDEO GAMES ~ WITH A LITTLE “HOUSE” OR “PSYCH” OR “THE OFFICE” ALONG THE WAY (YUK to all!)
….but what makes it the perfect picture……Mom bringing up popcorn and other snacks when needed. Then leaving them alone. Not asking stupid questions or making them do things like WORK!!!!!!

24 HOUR ESPN ~ A NAP ~ FIXING A COMPUTER OR TWO ~ EATING A LOT OF STEAK

PLAYING ~ PLAYING ~ PLAYING dolls, cars, dinosaurs, dress-up, riding bikes, horseback riding.
…but what make it the perfect picture…..Mommy, Daddy, and all the brothers playing with them.
So, how do you compromise so that the entire family can have some wonderful moments made into great memories?
Having 6 children…all spanning the age spectrum…making them all happy at the same time is basically impossible!
So we compromise….
The kids and the LOML put up with my weekend projects and I try to give them a little break every once in awhile.
The LOML gets to watch NASCAR on Sundays so he can let the whirring sound of the cars put him to sleep. NAPTIME! The bikini ain’t happenin’!
The boys get to play their video games but we love to have game night, too. We play Catchphrase, Scrabble, Clue, or a good family basketball game.
The girls are always playing together. I wish I had half of their energy. My house would be done!
What brings me joy, warmth, love is being with my family. I don’t care what we’re doing. I just care that we are together. My kids are growing every day. They are growing independent, responsible, and they are growing up.
The LOML and I are in a very weird stage of our lives right now. My oldest son’s friends are getting married. I talked about what I’m doing to prepare for one of those weddings in May here. I can’t believe that my oldest son is old enough to fall in love, get married, and all the things that follow. I still see him running around the soccer field with his shorts and shin guards covering his entire leg. He was like 3 feet tall! Time flies by so fast….we’re trying to enjoy every moment!
This weekend we get to drive 3 hours to the mountains to pack up Son #2 and bring him home from college. I’m gonna hug him to pieces when I see him!!!
