Memorial Day

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! ~ Our menu

Does anyone else struggle with getting your older kids to answer your texts. It’s a big struggle in this family!!

I invited two of my boys to come for Memorial Day weekend (any day) about a week ago.

Then Sunday about 4:00pm Son #4 is at my door. We have nothing planned. As a matter of fact, the LOML and I were both napping! So the LOML ran out to the grocery store and bought vegetables (Son #4 is a vegetarian).

Son #4 prepared the vegetables.

He prepared two different trays. One with onions, potatoes, asparagus, zucchini, and broccoli with salt, pepper, garlic salt, and olive oil. The second tray had everything but the onions with salt, pepper, paprika, and cayenne pepper. He baked both trays at 400° for 30 minutes. It was delicious!!

Daughter #2 cooked the rice pilaf.

She followed the directions on the box and it came out perfectly!

I skewered the shrimp and pineapple for us weird people who eat meat!

I marinated the shrimp with honey teriyaki (my favorite)!

We broiled the skewers 8 minutes on the first side and another 5 minutes on the other side. Then the LOML drizzled a little honey. YUMMY!!

While we ate our delicious meal, we watched the college nationals ultimate games.

We had a great long weekend. We’re slowly finishing each room in our new house and I can’t wait to show everyone!!

Hope y’all enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! Let’s all remember what Memorial Day is really about…the men and women who sacrificed everything for our freedom. God Bless the USA!!

Love y’all,

Linda
