My family and I have been working on Miss T’s office for a few months now. Miss T has an office building on her home property. It’s a two story stand alone plus three sheds.
The first floor is a small foyer room that leads into a great room that Miss T uses as a yoga studio.
~ Thus, the sign ~
It is now hanging outside the first floor front door.
The second floor has a kitchenette, half bath, waiting room, and two large rooms ~ one is Miss T’s office and the other she uses as a therapy room.
She wanted to update, paint, accessorize her space. I’ve had many ideas bouncing around in this empty ADD head of mine. When Miss T told me she was going out of town last week, my antenna went up. I can execute all these CRAZY GREAT ideas and surprise my friend in the process.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #1
We made and hung Fuse-A-Shade roller shades. You can read about how I did it here.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #2
I hung four signs that Miss T needed for her office space. You can read about how I made them here.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #3
After dying the slipcover on this couch from red to orange to brown to FINALLY purple (you can read about it here), we put it back on the couch. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I hope Miss T does too!
You can also see in this picture the before wall color (white) and the after wall color (purple) and the before flooring (carpet) and the after flooring (bamboo wood). You can read about all our fun doing that here.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #4
We painted the cabinets in the bathroom and kitchenette a deep coffee color. We used Rustoleum’s Cabinet Transformations System at Lowe’s for $79.
It was easy peasy! I cleaned the cabinets, deglossed, painted with base color, skipped the glaze, and put on a top coat. Everything is in the kit including stirring sticks and rags. What an improvement to the cabinets!!
I apologize for the before picture. That’s the best one I took of the bathroom cabinet.
We also added hardware to both sets of cabinets. We bought them at Lowe’s for $2.97 each. They add such character to boring cabinets.
What do y’all think?
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #5
We built a frame for the bathroom mirror. The LOML did a wonderful job using his trusty mitre saw and his genius math skills to use a 10 foot piece of trim from Lowe’s and get the measurements just right!! AMAZING MAN I MARRIED <3
We used Loctite Power Grab to adhere the wood to the mirror. A great tip I read was to paint the back of the wood so when you see the reflection in the mirror it’s the same color as the front. GREAT TIP! We painted the wood with the cabinet paint.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #6
We took down the cabinet that was above the commode . It was not centered over the toilet and it bugged me. I’m such an OCD symmetrical person. Is there therapy for that?? I hope Miss T doesn’t mind that I removed it 🙂 I have a great idea where I can put the extra cabinet in the kitchen. That’s for another post!
We filled the area with a photo gallery of beautiful 8×10 printable pictures of butterflies. Because the walls are teal and the trim is purple, guess what color the butterflies are…
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #7
We recovered some of Miss T’s sofa pillows to coordinate with the roller shades. I did the same technique in my house because I SO DO NOT SEW. You can see it here.
CRAZY GREAT IDEA #8

Miss T is coming home tomorrow so she won’t see her new office until then…..unless she reads my blog. And I know that’s on the top of her priority list when she is out of town. Hee Hee!
Hope y’all had a great weekend! I’m tired and I’m going to bed!
