While enjoying a little free time reading some facebook, I found a blog that has gotten me excited about what I love ……. making my home warm and welcoming!!! The blog is “Thrifty Decor Chick” and I can’t stop reading it. It’s full of projects that the author, Sarah, does around her house. She’s a wonderful writer, funny, creative, and she really knows her stuff. She shares her experiences, knowledge, and, yes, even her boo boos with the world so that we can try these sometimes very daunting home projects. One entry is about redoing her kitchen island …. I mean really redoing it! She took the counter off, painted the cabinet and replaced the counter with butcher block which she mitred the edges herself!!! You can see it here. I’m so impressed!!! Check her blog out if this kind of thing interests you. I’M LOVIN’ IT!!!! (A McDonald’s commercial!)
We are in the process of staging our house to sell. We’ve been in this house for 10 years and I’m getting the itch to move and make another house our home. I would love for you to join us in our journey from selling our house ~ all the staging it requires ~ to buying our new house and making it our home. I’m all giddy just thinking about all the work that’s ahead of us. My husband is moaning and groaning!
Here’s a few pictures of our house when we moved in in 2001, then the after pictures when we made it our home. Yes it is VERY dated. As we go through each room to stage, I’ll share pictures. So it’s a BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER thang!(that’s thing in southern drawl) Hope you enjoy!
To clarify … I am NOT a professional decorator. I’m a mom and a nurse and I LOVE to decorate. I’m hoping you can get ideas from this blog. Please share your ideas because I LOVE to copy great ideas as you’ll soon learn.
GOD BLESS!
