Summer vacation has ended in our house.
My two daughters are in year-round school so they began school right after July 4th. But Son #2 was moved into his place at App State this past weekend. It's always tough to say goodbye. (Sad face again!)
ON TO SOME FUN STUFF!!
Remember the cabinets with the baskets that flank the fireplace in my family room? Maybe a little reminder will help.
I asked y'all to vote on liners or no liners in the baskets. Well, the vote is in and no liners won!
I saw this great idea on Pinterest
I wanted to store all our DVDs in the baskets so I had a brainstorm of labeling by movie category.
I bought oval wood pieces at AC Moore.
Next, I had to figure out what lettering I wanted. My handwriting isn't that great so I decided on stickers.
When I redid my friend Miss T's office, I made these signs for her.
So while I was at AC Moore I found stickers that I liked.
I painted the wood labels black.
I spelled out the words with the letters.
Then I spray painted the labels green. I waited about an hour, then peeled the letters off.
I found square velcro pads at Walmart.
I adhered one side of the velcro to the back of the wood label. Because the basket surface is uneven I hot glued the other side of the velcro to the basket. Then I velcroed the labels to each basket.
I love the end result. What do you think??
And on a cute note, Daughter #2 thought the sun was too bright for the Puppy!
Notice the fireplace mantel is not done yet. I stare at it every day and want to cry!!
Now that we're back in a routine, we can start working on the built-ins and mantel. Can't wait to finish it and share.
Hope your week is going great!
