Our family is enjoying our first cruise ever on Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas. We boarded the ship yesterday and we toured the whole ship and we were amazed! It’s a beautiful place with so many things to do and see. Oh yea, and EAT!! There is food available everywhere and always.
The LOML and I had breakfast in the dining hall and were served by Abraham. He was so kind and his job was to give us whatever we needed and wanted. Thank you Abraham!! Breakfast was delicious!
The kids were still asleep so we went to Schooner’s Lounge for a trivia game. Then we stayed for the Scavenger Hunt where we had to get signatures from people from all different countries all over the world. Oh boy!! I have to talk to complete strangers. This is so out of my comfort zone!!
When two of the three kids woke up, we met them at Windjammers which is the buffet restaurant with an abundance of food and the restaurant is surrounded by huge windows. The views were absolutely beautiful!! The kids ate fruit and yogurt while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Sleepy Head Son #3 showed up a little later and after he finished his breakfast we were off to enjoy the adventures of the ship. Before we left, I asked our waitress Alisha from Zimbabwe if she could sign our Scavenger Hunt list. She proceeded to sign then walked around the whole restaurant getting signatures from all of her co-workers. She was so sweet!!
Remember when I introduced you to my grand niece Princess Ava? Her dad owns a clothing business in New Jersey called Jetty.
Found on their ‘About Us’ page:
Now in our 22nd year of business, Jetty continues to offer eco-minded, durable apparel that embodies the fickle conditions of northeast surf and encourages outdoor adventure despite the weather. As B-Corp Certified company, we prioritize reducing waste, creating premium products, and supporting coastal communities through our nonprofit, the Jetty Rock Foundation, which has donated millions of dollars to clean water initiatives and disaster relief efforts for over a decade. Supporting Jetty strengthens our commitment to protecting our oceans, waterways, and the communities that rely on them.
When we went to NJ for Princess Ava’s parents’ wedding, we visited the Jetty store and went crazy purchasing gifts for everyone. The quality of everything we bought was first class. Son #4 wears his t-shirt all the time. Visit their website and give them some love!
It was a beautiful and warm afternoon so after we played some cornhole,
and shuffleboard,
and ping pong,
we headed inside to cool off and watch “Love and Marriage” game show. The emcee picked three couples from the audience, one newlywed couple (only married 4 hours), a 10 years married couple, and a 40 years married couple. The three wives left the stage and the emcee asked the husbands questions. Then they brought the women back and their responses were hilarious!! They had the whole audience in stitches.
We went back to our rooms, put on our bathing suits and headed to the hot tub and pool. The pool water was SOOOO cold, I just laid out on a chaise lounge and relaxed. And no, there are no pictures of me in a bathing suit. That is definitely not happening!! YOU’RE WELCOME!!
We walked around the ship and found this top deck.
When we returned to our cabin, our cabin steward, Suraj, had cleaned our room and left us a sweet towel animal. He’s so great!
NAP TIME!!!! Look at the water outside the window. So pretty!!!
When we woke up, we took showers and got dressed up for dinner. We have the same assigned table every evening and the same servers, Edgar and Ketut. Edgar is a big personality and he has great hair. He also answers to the name Elvis Parsley. Ketut is much quieter but so sweet. He has a great smile!
Dinner was delicious as usual and afterwards we worked it off with a little late night shuffleboard.
We watched Production Showtime Rhythm and Rhyme which was so good. The performers sang and dance to Broadway shows through the years. The lead singers were amazing as well as the dancers and the costumes.
On our way back to our rooms, Daughter #4 was hungry (I have no idea where she puts all the food she eats!) so we stopped by for a slice of pizza at Cafe Promenade, a restaurant that served sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. The pizza was pretty good!
Time for bed!!
Tomorrow….COZUMEL!!
Good night!
Love y’all,
Linda
