WELCOME TO OUR NEW HOUSE!!
We’re getting settled as we unpack boxes, figure out where to put things, learn new appliances, meet new neighbors, and introducing our dogs to our new place.
I wanted to show you each room before we moved in and then once we’re done moving in, I will post before and afters of each room. I always love before and afters.
This is the front of the house before it was completely finished inside. I love the grey and black colors. I also love the stone and the shingle siding.
Our new front door is a beautiful dark wood with a very large window. I love my front door!!
There’s a small front porch where we can sit out with our coffee or tea and enjoy watching the kids across the street playing.
The foyer has nice molding and a great place for a beautiful piece of furniture. I just have to figure out which one 😉
The dining room ceiling molding is fancy shmansy!! And I love the lighting throughout the house.
The family room has beautiful built-ins around the fireplace and television mount above the fireplace. Look at that massive fan!! I was told the cost is about $600!!
This is where the piano will go so when the boys come home, I can hear them and see them. In our old house, I could hear them but when I got up and went into the living room where they were playing they would usually stop playing. They are all very talented but not much for performing in front of people 🙁
The kitchen has a large island, lots of counter space and cabinet storage. I love the lighting in this room, too.
My first ever mudroom!! This is located right when you enter the house from the garage. I see some baskets in its future!
The guest bathroom is out of the way on the other side of the kitchen wall.
The laundry room is downstairs. Our old one was upstairs because all the rooms (and laundry) were upstairs. Now that we’re empty nesters we love that our master bedroom and laundry room are downstairs.
On the other side of the house, in the entrance to the master bedroom is a wall of built-ins. The builder did not scrimp on anything!
Our master bedroom is a lot smaller than our old one but it will be nice and cozy.
The master bathroom is beautiful with black hexagon tiles with white grout. I hope I can keep it clean!! I love how the counter juts out for extra space. Lots of drawers, too.
I can get lost in this shower!!!! It’s great!
On the other side of the bathroom is the master closet. It comes with a window, shelves and lots of hanging space.
Now let’s head upstairs……
This first room will be the LOML’s (Love Of My Life) office.
The whole house has beautiful and spacious closets!
There is a Jack and Jill bathroom that leads to another bedroom.
This bedroom will be our guest room.
The next room is a very large bonus room.
Now I have saved the best for last. Daughter #2 just came home after finishing her Sophomore year in college. We gave her a tour of the house then showed her her bedroom. She said, “My room is bigger than yours!”
This is the storage area off of her bedroom. It even has a window! If we want to, we can finish the room. The builder left the drywall.
This is her bathroom which opens to her room and to the hallway.
The LOML’s favorite space is the screened porch off of the family room/kitchen. There’s a fan so sitting out there is very comfortable.
Off of the screened porch is a deck which will house the grill.
The backyard is large and mostly flat.
So far, we are loving our new house. I can’t wait to show y’all each room as we put our touches into each space.
Hope y’all had a great week!
Happy Friday!!!!
Tonight we are celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. I got married when I was 10!!!! I’m just kidding! I’m old!

Linda
