Hey Everybody!! Thanks for following along on our summer vacation to Disney World/Universal Studios. We have had so much fun!! If you’d like to catch up and see what we’ve been up to all week:
Universal Studio’s Islands of Adventure
For the last day of our summer vacation to Disney World/Universal Studios, Mom was too sick to go to any park so she stayed in bed and slept. She was very sad to miss the last day with the family but there was no way she was going to be able to stand in lines in the heat and still be the nice person that she is. And no I usually don’t talk about myself in the third person!
The rest of the family went to Universal Studios for the day. They say they missed Mom but she doesn’t believe that at all. They had way too much fun to be missing her!!
The boys first went to the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster. BIG DROP!!! My heart is pounding out of my chest just looking at this picture!!
Daughter #2 and the LOML went to Transformers: The Ride 3D
Then they met up with the boys and they all did the Transformers ride again.
Everyone did the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster, brave souls!! You are tossed around while running away from the Mummy Imhotep then you are plunged into darkness and the big fall!!! Sounds like fun, huh? NOT!!
After the Mummy they headed over to the Race through New York starring Jimmy Fallon. It’s a 3D-Motion ride where the guests race Jimmy Fallon around NYC – seeing all the sights in the process!
The crew was hungry for lunch and they stopped at Richter’s Burger Company for a quick meal of burgers and shakes. More importantly, a break from the Florida heat and humidity.
After lunch they were headed to the Men in Black: Alien Attack ride when they passed by these cars on display outside the Fast and Furious: Supercharged ride. Although they didn’t go on the ride, since this is one of Mom’s favorite movie franchises, they had to get a picture of Paul Walker’s car for her.
At the Men in Black: Alien Attack they rode in a vehicle shooting aliens and saving the world.
They all agreed of the three different shoot ’em up rides that we’ve done all week The Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios was the best.
Since it was later in the day, the wait at the new Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts ride was a little more reasonable.
It’s more than an indoor roller coaster ride – Universal calls it “.. a multi-dimensional thrill ride”
You join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in attempting to infiltrate Gringotts Bank in order to retrieve a Horcrux as part of their mission to defeat Lord Voldemort.
After the long wait and thrilling ride they all had a butterbeer break before heading over to the Simpson’s Ride.
On the walk over, they noticed the skies had darkened and rain clouds were moving in.
After the Simpson’s Ride, a virtual reality roller coaster, they decided to call it a day and leave before the clouds opened up.
They came back to the hotel to pick me up and we headed to Olive Garden which is one of my kids’ favorite restaurants ~ bottomless breadsticks and salad. You can’t beat that!!
We had a wonderful week enjoying Disney World/Universal Studios, Westgate Lake Resort and Spa, Orlando, beautiful weather, great food, and great people.
A fun before and after seeing how much our kids have grown up between 2013 and now.
This trip needed to be planned out thoroughly, especially with the number of people we were traveling with (11) so I highly recommend using UndercoverTourist.com for all your plans. They shared great advice on where to stay, parks to visit, fast passes, restaurants, and lots more. It was very helpful when we were planning our trip in 2013 and this trip. We will definitely use them again!
