WELCOME BACK TO OUR TRIP TO SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA DAY 7!!!!
I took a little break from writing to enjoy my family for Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful weekend with some of my kids as we ate a lot, played a lot, and also watched “Hunger Games” and enjoyed some movie popcorn. I hope your holiday weekend was full of happiness, laughter, and love.
Back to our trip. Since the Ultimate Nationals were all over, we are looking forward to some relaxation and lots more eating and sight seeing.
We started the day with a little walk on the boardwalk that runs along the beach.
This is our hotel Ocean Park Inn. We loved our room.
We walked to Kono’s Cafe for breakfast. It was a small dive with surfboards hanging on the walls with a beautiful mural behind our table. Again, I had scrambled eggs and pancakes (I’m so boring predictable!). The LOML had the veggie egg scambled with a English muffin and Kono’s potatoes. It was delish!!!
After a yummy breakfast, we walked along the boardwalk and popped into some of the quaint shops.
I saw these beautiful plaques made by Joni McDaniel that were just stunning. I’m not sure what I would do with them but I couldn’t help touching them. They were so shiny and smooth and of course, I love the color! Later on we saw these same designs on cafe table tops. What a great idea!
There was a pier nearby that housed these little cottages. If we ever come back to San Diego, I may look into how much these sweet places are to rent for a week.
After a nice walk, we hopped into our car and headed to La Jolla to find some seals.
To see the seals, we had to drive around the hilly streets trying to find a parking spot. Walking back to the car after visiting the seals, we had to walk up a very steep hill. This sign was in front of a restaurant next to our car. I laughed a little bit while I was panting from the walk up the hill!!
After visiting the seals, we drove up the coast and passed through many small, quaint towns.
There is something about beach air that just soothes the soul!!
When our stomachs started growling, we headed back to our favorite restaurant.
They make the best lobster and shrimp ravioli!! I didn’t get a picture because I ate it too fast! Here’s my empty plate!
And this was our view from our table! So pretty!!
We went to bed with full tummies and smiles on our faces from a beautiful day in San Diego!
Come back soon to read about our whale watching trip.
Love y’all,
Linda
