SAYING GOODBYE TO OUR CHILDREN’S CHILDHOOD HOME ~ A New Beginning

Oh boy!! Lots of tears this week!!

Twenty three years of memories run through my head as I pack up each room to get ready to move to a new house that I’m excited about making our next home.

As we emptied the attic and the crawl space, toys that we hadn’t seen in 15-20 years were put in the truck to be brought to the dump. My heart ached with pictures of tiny people playing outside, giggling, falling, running, and having fun!

Son #4 came for dinner the other night and before he left, he ran upstairs to walk into each room. He seemed very melancholy. Son #3 came home the next night to say goodbye to his childhood home. It was heartwarming to hear all the memories he had in each room as he took his last walk through the house. It really is sad!

There are thousands of wonderful memories I feel in each room; holiday dinners in the dining room, opening Christmas gifts in the family room, game nights on the kitchen table, piano recitals in the living room, ping pong tournaments in the bonus room, sleepovers in every bedroom. It goes on and on yet it feels like yesterday.

All these cute faces are adults now. Where did the time go?????

Before we left the house for the final time, I wrote a letter to the new owners and placed it on the kitchen island along with some beautiful flowers. We wished them happy times and wonderful memories.

I’m not crying!! You’re crying!!

I can’t wait to show you our new house and all the projects that are running around in my crazy brain!

A little sneak peek….
