I'm so excited to reveal two make-overs today.
The first one is my new blog design. It was done by Creative Kristi Designs. I met Kristi at The Haven Conference, a blogging conference held in Atlanta, last year. I went to her class and was blown away by her knowledge of all things design. My head hurt after the class. I later asked her if she could redesign MY attempt at blog design. There was a waiting list but BOY was she worth the wait!! I love the new look. What do y'all think??
And FINALLY!!
The guest bathroom is done. It went from a muted, cluttered bathroom to a bright, cottage-like retreat for guests (and Son #3).
All the steps to our completed bathroom
1) Added beadboard paneling, and shelf to all walls.
2) Painted all trim and molding bright white.
3) Painted and hung decorative shelving above the toilet.
4) Added crystal doorknobs to paneling.
5) Painted sink cabinetry.
6) Added crystal knob hardware.
7) Mason jar storage attached to trim molding near sink.
8) Trimmed out mirror
9) Printed and framed black and white photos of each of our children when they were little and in the bathtub.
10) Accessorize!!
I found the Gypsy bath accessories at BedBath.com. I bought the shower curtain, trash can, two rugs, soap dispenser, and kleenex holder. It matches well with the colors of the new bathroom.
And finally our new guest bathroom!

I see something truly interesting about your web site so I saved to fav.
Love the fun colors!
I used beadboard in my kids bathroom and I love how it snazzes it up a bit!
How did you attach those mason jars? I love that idea!
Thanks Lisa~If I could I would add beadboard to every wall in my house. It gives it such a cottage feel. I love it. The mason jars are attached with hose clamps found at Lowes for about 25 cents. Then I just screwed them into the wall. I can unclamp them to clean the jars. So easy!!! Thanks for visiting! ~Linda
Newest follower here! I found you through the blog hop. You have a super cute blog, I can’t wait to read more. You can find me at meandmr.com

Thanks so much Melanie!
Wow! So much to love in your new bathroom! I adore the bath photos! And I also love the cheery green vanity.
I just added photos to our bathroom too. If you’d like, you can see them here: http://www.dejongdreamhouse.com/2013/03/chair-rail-family-gallery.html
Thank you so much Jen! I’m headed over now to see your bathroom. ~Linda
Lovely bathroom makeover! What a wonderful idea to include cute bathtime photos! Your blog makeover is beautiful, too. I love the header, button design, and tagline – so pretty!
Thank you so much Laurie! The bathtime pictures idea was one of those light bulb moments when I had no idea what to do and then I was looking through some pictures one night and saw a picture of one of my kid’s in the bathtub. They’re some of the cutest pictures I have of my kids. Sadly, now that my kids are older, they’re sort of mortified that they are hanging in the guest bathroom! A perk of being a mom 😉
Fabulous makeover. I love the beadboard and picture rail with those fab knobs.
Thanks Sandra~Love your blog! We’re about to tackle built in bookshelves in our family room. Loved Beckie’s!!! ~Linda
Which molding, exactly, did you use to frame out your mirror, and where did you buy it from? 🙂 The one you used is the exact one I want!
Hey Courtney~ I bought chair rail molding I found at Lowe’s.
EverTrue 11/16-in x 2-3/4-in x 8-ft Primed Pine Chair Rail (Pattern 390)
$6.77
It took us about 20 minutes from start to finish. A very easy project with a big impact. Good luck! ~Linda
Thanks for the follow-up! Appreciate it.
Ha! no wonder I love it. That’s the chair rail I used in my bathroom, isn’t it?

Love the bead board! I keeping thinking someday I’ll get around to adding it to my laundry room. Found you over at the Sundae Scoop, I’ll hope you’ll drop by and check out my “No Ordinary Carrot Cake!”, and follow along as well. 🙂

Thanks Becky! I’m planning on adding beadboard in my laundry room too. If I spent so much time in there, it might as well be pretty! Thanks for visiting! ~Linda
