Rollercoasters scare me to death!!
The feeling of falling and almost dying is not fun for me at all. But I don't want my kids to feel like me. I want them to love the excitement. When I was younger, I remember doing Space Mountain at Disney World, which is a rollercoaster in the dark, over and over and over again.
Then I got a lot little older and became a big little chicken.
Our family went to Universal in Orlando this past weekend and had a blast! But mama's knees were shaking every time the kids said, "Mom, let's do this ride!" My first question, "How big is the fall?" I'm pretty sure there was some crying!
The first day we went to
Universal Studios
Before there was Brad Keselowski, there was Rusty Wallace. I was a big fan!
Transformers 3D was our first scary ride!!
The guys did their first of many rollercoasters of the day.
The rest of the day was spent with ET Extra-Terrestrial, SpongeBob Squarepants, mummies, Men in Black, minions (Despicable Me 2), The Simpsons, Shrek, and we even survived a Twister!!
We made reservations for a nice dinner at Lombard's Seafood Grille. It was a beautiful restaurant with a stunning view of the water. The food was yummy and the service was fantastic!
The first day was done.
The second day we went to
Islands of Adventure
Our perfect plan was to get to the park early morning and run to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter to cut a few minutes off our waiting time.
HA!
That didn't work out well. When we got there, the line was already ginormus! There was a nice man dressed up in Harry Potter garb yelling about the ride not being operational at this time. They had no estimate of a time when it would be up and running.

BUMMER!
At least I got my exercise for the day. Before we went to Plan B, we had to try the Butterbeer.
PLAN B~ the boys went to every roller coaster they knew of. Mom, Dad and the girls went to the water portion of the park. Oh goody! And I curled my hair for this. What was I thinking??
Our first ride was the Jurassic Park River Adventure which had a small drop (enter scream here!)
The next ride was also a wet one. We went on the Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. We went on this ride twice. NO DROPS for Mom (smiley face!).
I was done getting wet and the girls were just getting started. So they dragged Dad along with them. He's such a trooper! They went on the Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls ~ a flume ride. They did this ride twice too.
We also visited Spiderman, the Caro-Seuss-el, The Lorax, a high in the sky train ride, and Jurassic Park.
Now for the highlight of the day …… The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!! We waited two hours…yes, I said two hours. They were having a hard time getting the ride to work right I guess. The line takes you on a tour of the Hogwarth Castle which was very cool. It even snowed and thundered and lightninged (Is that a word?) while we were waiting. We finally got on and boy was I scared!!! It's dark, fast, fun, scary, jerky, action-packed, and there are some big falls. But the part that surprised me the most was the laying all the way back. I felt like we were going to do a full back flip. I had never been on a ride that did that. One more thing for me to be afraid of. DARN!!
These two days were filled with good times with family, good eating, lots of laughing and not much sleep. It was a great two days.
If you haven't been to Universal Studios, I recommend it highly.
Hope your weekend is going great!
Love y'all,
Linda
