Happy New Year Everyone!
I’m so excited to welcome in a new year and look back at a great 2014.
As I get older, I’m amazed at how quickly time flies. I was just reading my “To Do List for 2014”, and am amazed at how much my plans and my finished projects are so different!!
We have lived in this house for 13 years and there are certain projects I’ve wanted to do since the day we moved in. But it seems like every year I get one big project completed from my to-do list, then I do a whole bunch of projects that were never on the list. They just pop up out of nowhere!!
The only project I really got done from the 2014 list was hanging the cabinets in the laundry room.
So this year, I’m just gonna tell you I’m sticking with the old list. Hopefully, I can finish the list from last year.
We’re going to the ReStore tomorrow to look for a table for the laundry room like the picture on the right.
I’m also building shelves similar to the ones in the picture on the right. I bought four white corbels from Woodcraft for $9.99 each. I want to stain the shelves a dark mahogany.
We just finished figuring out the math for the board and batten. We bought all the wood at Home Depot yesterday. Hopefully, in the next couple of days, we can finish hanging the wood and I’ll paint it with white trim paint.
Can’t wait to share the next completed step in this very long project called the laundry room!!
I’m also in the planning stages of another project that has never been on the to-do list.
#1 The Boys’ Bathroom
The Boys Bathroom is our second full bathroom upstairs. It has a fish theme and it’s way too young for our now adult and high school boys. I want to make it a little bit more grown up. Imagine the vanity a light grey, the walls white, a white/grey/yellow shower curtain, white curtain, a shelving unit in between the two sinks, and the mirror trimmed out. Can you see it?
#2 The Bonus Room
Again, our bonus room is on the list for a complete redo.
#3 The Staircase
I really want to rip the disgusting carpet off my staircase and make beautiful wood stairs.
I know I have some lofty goals. And I am a list person. I love making lists and checking things off. I feel like I accomplish things when I can check them off the list. I hope this makes me more accountable and I’ll get some work done this year. And you can just assume that there will be projects done that will not be on the list. They’ll just pop up!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Love y’all,
Linda
