WINDOW DRESSINGS ~ for the kitchen

I’ve been keeping my eyes out for a curtain that would fit beautifully in my new bright green kitchen. So far NO LUCK!
I saw these roman shades on Pinterest and fell in love

The LOML and I were walking through Walmart looking for GREEN accent pieces for the kitchen. I found these cute apples.
Then to my wandering eyes I saw them! Beautiful curtains hanging up in a display. Of course, I didn’t have my camera in Walmart. Here is the panel  in the package.
I knew I wanted to add a little color to the area at the window above the sink. It’s one of a few windows in the kitchen so I want to keep it uncovered.  So I cut the curtain in half long ways.
I cut the two panels 55″ long. I wanted the panels to be 54″ long + 1″ for the hem. The top and one side hem was already done. Thank goodness because I don’t sew! Then I used the magic Heat Bond to finish the other two hems.
DONE!
I bought a white rod and curtain rings also from Walmart.
The rings were black so I had Son #4 spray paint them white.
Our spray painting area is under our deck so we clipped the rings to a string, tied it to the underside of the deck and sprayed away!
The LOML and I hung the curtains to see how I would like them
What do y’all think?
I’m debating about stenciling a pattern on them to break up the green a little bit like the inspiration picture above. Decisions decisions!!

Love y’all,

Linda

    • Thanks Anne. I’m still going back and forth with the stencil. The inspiration picture at the top of the page ~ I love the roses. Maybe stenciling scattered white flowers just to break up the green a little bit. As the curtain hangs at the window, I’m getting used to it more. Can’t make up my mind! ~Linda
